Opening with jagged guitar lines and a bassline that crawls like a slow burn, "Earth Tones and Pastels" immediately sets a mood of deep reflection. The drums kick in with a sense of controlled chaos, pushing the song forward while never overshadowing the tension in the lyrics. Each verse builds toward an explosive chorus, where distortion and emotion collide, capturing the very essence of heartbreak and resilience. This 12-track masterpiece, "Use Your Heart" is a potent blend of nostalgia, angst, and catharsis, drawing listeners into the band's world of existential reflection and personal struggle.

Before the album’s release, Sorry Holly teased fans with singles like "Lost and Found" (released December 26, 2024) and "SJC" (released January 7, 2025), both of which laid the groundwork for the album’s powerful direction. These singles captured the essence of the band’s sound, hinting at the intensity and raw emotion that would unfold on Use Your Heart. As the full album is now poised to make its mark, it’s clear that the band has crafted a work that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking, pushing the boundaries of post-punk while staying true to its core.

The production, handled by Simon Small at Chicago’s Type One Studios, ensures every element of the track hits with impact. The mix is tight but retains a raw edge, allowing the imperfections in Kevin’s voice to cut through like a confession. The contrast between melodic vulnerability and crashing instrumentals highlights the song’s core message: feeling deeply, even when it hurts, is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Beyond its emotional weight, "Use Your Heart" is also an electrifying anthem. The momentum never falters, and the final moments leave a lasting imprint, with the repeated refrain echoing long after the song fades out. Sorry Holly has created something memorable—an urgent, cathartic track that refuses to be ignored.
